A TIERED DISTRIBUTION MODEL

Our current fund policy states that if and when the fund exceeds $10,000, we will allocate 80% of the total fund amount for distribution at a ratio of 50%, 30%, and 20%.

 

2021 GIVING 

We will announce the available funds for this year’s giving cycle in August 2021. Grants will be awarded as follows:

  • The first award recipient will receive 50% of the dollars available for distribution.
  • The second award recipient will receive 30% of the dollars available for distribution.
  • The third award recipient will receive 20% of the dollars available for distribution.
  • The fourth award recipient will receive $1,000
  • The fifth award recipient will receive $500

  1. Lighthouse Immigrant Advocates, $10,150
  2. I Am Academy, $6,090
  3. Tri-Cities Puentes Initiative/Mija Leadership Coaching, $4,060
  4. Black Tulip Doula program through Maple Avenue Ministries, $1,000
  5. CultureWorks, $500

Nomination window opens

 

September 17

Nominations are due

 

October 1–16 

N&D Committee reviews submitted nominations to ensure they meet our giving criteria. Organizations with more than one nomination will automatically advance to the application stage and will be invited to pitch on December 15th.

 

October 19–30

If there is not a clear top five, members will receive a summary of organizations with one nomination. They will review the nominations and submit their top two selections. The N&D committee will then tally up the votes and identify the top five organizations.


November 1–30

Announce Top 5 organizations!

  • Top 5 organizations will be invited to submit a more detailed application (Due November 30).
  • Members review information for the Top 5 nominated organizations on our website

 

December 15

WOC Give Winter Social: Pitch session, vote, and the announcement of grant recipients

  1. Organizations will prepare and deliver a five minute presentation that outlines how they plan to use the funds 
  2. Organizations will have an additional 10 minutes to respond to questions from members
  3. Immediately following the presentations, Women of Color Give members will spend up to 45 minutes discussing and evaluating the requests before choosing the grant recipients
